As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR initiatives), we were privileged to contribute to Devinuwara Vishnu Maha Dewalaya, one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred and historically significant places of worship. The Dewalaya is widely believed to be the divine dwelling of God Vishnu, the guardian and protector of Sri Lanka.
Project Background
Devinuwara Vishnu Maha Dewalaya holds deep spiritual and cultural value for devotees across the country. Worship at this sacred site is rooted in centuries-old traditions, where every element — sound, sight, and scent — plays a meaningful role in creating a spiritually uplifting environment.
Understanding the importance of sensory experience in worship, our CSR project focused on enhancing the temple’s ambience in a respectful and non-intrusive manner.
Our Contribution
As part of this initiative, we installed a selected number of ambient scent diffuser machines within the temple premises. These diffusers gently disperse the fragrance of jasmine, a flower traditionally regarded as God Vishnu’s favourite scent and a symbol of purity, devotion, and divine grace.
Key considerations of the installation included:
Maintaining the sanctity and calm of the temple environment
Ensuring the fragrance remains subtle and soothing
Avoiding any disruption to religious rituals or architectural elements
All placements and scent levels were carefully planned to align with the spiritual nature of the Dewalaya.
Impact
The soft presence of jasmine enhances the devotional experience, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere for devotees. The fragrance complements prayer and meditation, offering a deeper sense of calm and spiritual connection without altering the traditional character of the temple.
Our CSR Commitment
